About
Hi there, I'm Quintin Marcus, the creative mind behind Yarnqueer, and a proud queer artist/rugmaker currently living in Somerville, Massachusetts.
My mission with Yarnqueer is simple: to infuse a burst of rainbow, color, and magic into people's lives with my art.
Growing up, I was surrounded by yarn and art. My mother would craft sweaters, tapestries, and all manner of things that dotted the house and my wardrobe. My father, a musician, would play strange melodies as I drifted off to sleep. Art and expression was all around me, but it took some time for me to come to terms with my own identity and expression of it. Art allowed me to express who I was and now I want to share that with the world loudly!
That's why the name Yarnqueer feels like a perfect fit— it's a tribute to the colorful path my life has taken and who I have become, something I now take tremendous pride in.
Thank you for joining me on this colorful journey! 🌈❤️
